Last weekend, the final stage of the BaTCC race took place on Estonia’s “Auto24Ring” circuit. As this was the last stage, all participants came to all events to get more points for the overall standings.The GSR Motorsport team participated in the NEZ6H group and the TCR Endurance event. Although some participants had problems with their equipment, in the end 27 teams prepared for the start of the race. The race itself was worth the big final title – intense bouts took place throughout the 6 hours.
There was no shortage of strategy and reason during the races, as the ever-changing climate and track quality led riders to find a good balance between safety and speed without having unnecessary stops.
The team is happy to have at least partially solved the problem with the transmission and reached the finish line. In the final leg of the TCR Endurance event, the team finished 5th and 9th in the overall event. At the last event in the VW Golf GTI TCR of the team GSR Motorsport, Julius Adomavičius took first place and in the overall standings of the TRC Sprint the 2nd place! Unfortunately, Ernesta Globytė finished 14th in the overall standings, despite finishing first in the overall standings last year.
As the season was not really successful due to gearbox problems, the last stage of this event was the most successful one for the GSR Motorsport team and gives hope. Of four events, the team reached the finish line in two – the second and the fourth, which took place last weekend. They finished eighth in the TCR Endurance overall event, even though they were the champions last year.
However, the team at GSR Motorsport is not depressed and desperately wants to return to the road of the champions. Although the season is over, they are talking to the VW Motorsport factory to solve the problems they had and to get back to the top next year.
